On today’s show: It seems the hacker that stole over $600 Million USD worth of cryptocurrency from the Poly Network yesterday has had a change of heart following a plea from the network’s founder. At the time of publishing this video around $340 Million of the total has been returned with the hacker promising to return the rest slowly.
Next, we go to India where we are seeing new trends in crypto trading. WazirX tells Forkast that they are seeing a huge rise in signups from smaller cities in the country with the majority of new accounts being opened by women. Some of these new female users have said that the ability to trade crypto has afforded them financial independence and an improved lifestyle.
And finally, OKEx lists a spinoff from Dogecoin, Baby Doge, which was recently bought to the crypto world’s attention by none other than Elon Musk. Despite a huge surge in value, it has dropped down to its previous level and even shows a downward trend. However, its parent coin Dogecoin has seen a more sustained surge in the last 7 days, growing by over 40% and outstripping the growth of both Bitcoin and Ethereum.
