This paper revisits the idea of paying transaction fees in non-native tokens/currencies via, so-called, metatransactions. We review existing and novel approaches as well as point out fascinating applications of metatransactions. For instance, we could deter frontrunning today by using confidential transactions/tokens as a mean of transaction fee payment.
