Hyperledger In-depth: An hour with Public Mint: Bringing fiat into blockchain with Hyperledger Besu

Despite the many benefits, cryptocurrencies still suffer from shortcomings that cause businesses and individuals to struggle to operate in the space.

Crypto-native companies find it hard to work outside of the blockchain, and traditional businesses are wary of the uncertainty in operating with native crypto assets.

Stablecoins have taken the first step towards wider adoption, but in their current form still suffer from many shortcomings – they only really solve a part of the problem. On their own, most stablecoins do not fully bridge the gap between crypto and fiat. Even if they do add some stability to the ecosystem, they are simply not designed to address business processes outside the cryptosphere. In this session, Co-founder and CTO Jorge Pereira of Hyperledger member company Public Mint will explain how the company has used Hyperledger Besù to build a veritable fiat blockchain and a seamless bridge between the realms – giving fiat money crypto superpowers to tap into the $94+ trillion traditional economy.
