Axie Infinity is a decentralized game on the Ethereum Blockchain that allows players to control adorable, Pokémon-inspired characters known as Axies. These axies a powerful fighters and allow players to battle, breed, raise and trade for/with or against other Axies. Battling happens within the game, and trading/breeding happens on the Axie marketplace.
As an Axie trainer, you will need to complete daily tasks which include battling opponents in Arena mode and farming through bosses in Adventure mode. Trainers are encouraged to play daily so that your Axies could level up and become stronger. In addition you will gain an in-game token called Small Love Potion (SLP) which could be converted to other cryptocurrencies (Ethereum) and that could potentially be traded for fiat currency. This makes Axie Infinity what some call a “Play to Earn” game. Axies are considered NFT or Non-Fungible Tokens due to being ERC721 tokens. This gives players complete ownership of their Axies and is unheard of in the gaming community (until now).
What makes Axie unique is it’s battle system. Each battle is 3v3 layout with each axie taking turns attacking, defending, or using a number of utility skills. Players will need to come up with thier own strategies to defeat each unique player and Axie team across the globe.
