Dev Diaries – How Sam Transitioned to Blockchain Game Development

Sam Bayless, known as @SamTheBay, from the Enjin community, shares his journey from being inspired by classic games in his youth to becoming an indie game developer. He taught himself programming and released his first game using ASCII graphics.

After university, Sam worked at Microsoft and developed an RPG for Windows phone that amassed over a million downloads. He then transitioned to creating a game on Steam named “Privateers.” After a hiatus, Sam discovered the potential of integrating blockchain into gaming.

He emphasizes the need for player-driven economies, low barriers to entry, and harnessing the unique benefits of Web3. Sam believes that the Enjin Blockchain offers the right tools for the future of gaming, highlighting low transaction fees, low development costs, marketplace integration, and user-friendly features.
