SingularityNET is a decentralized artificial intelligence (AI) marketplace. The value of AI for business is becoming more evident every day. However, there is still a serious gap between the people developing AI (researchers and scientists) and the companies that want to use it. Most organizations need customized solutions, while products in this area are highly specialized, and research projects often cannot handle the large enough amount of data needed for effective machine learning. SingularityNET fills that gap.
How SingularityNET works
SingularityNET is a complex project. The initial product is an AI-as-a-service marketplace, but in the future the company is going to develop a fully self-organizing AI-based network. The AI agents in this autonomous network will use AI to distribute work among themselves and develop together to further improve the network. But first things first.
Marketplace for AI services.
In simple terms, SingularityNET is being launched as an AI-based services marketplace. The team has decided to coordinate their efforts on three main areas of AI and will be developing them during the first two years of their work:
1. cloud robotics (Cloud robotics)
2. biomedical research
3. Cybersecurity.
Within the open marketplace, AI developers can exchange their tools and services for SingularityNET AGI token or for the tools and services of their peers. To make these processes as easy as possible, SingularityNET provides APIs that incorporate standard AI services, such as image or text processing, into smart contracts.
Before we go any further, it’s important to understand who the agents are in the SingularityNET ecosystem. Agents are members of the ecosystem whose job is to execute smart contracts. They are usually represented by network nodes.
