Crypto & Blockchain News 10 Jan 2021: Ethereum, Aave, Bitcoin

1. In a largely celebratory community call devoted in part to commemorating lending protocol Aave’s January 8th Aaveversary — a full year of Aave on Ethereum mainnet — there was also a look into Aave’s possible future: a proposal from Delphi Digital seeking to fundamentally alter Aave’s Safety Module and create a new insurance product offering. Currently, $aave governance token holders can stake their tokens in the Safety Module, a pool of liquidity designed to help insure the protocol against a shortfall event such as a smart contract exploit.

2. Two weeks ago, few investors would have expected Bitcoin (BTC) price to rally any higher than $20,000. In fact, most had forecast a $30,000 BTC price by mid-2022 or late 2023 at best.

3. Ethereum network fees continue to climb, with the average value topping out at $17.43 per transaction, according to data from YCharts. As previously reported by Cointelegraph, average fees were at about $10.20 on Monday.

4. Canaan, one of the earliest manufacturers of Bitcoin (BTC) ASIC miners, has released the Avalon Immersion (NASDAQ:IMMR) Cooling Miner A1066I, a device designed to be liquid-cooled. Unlike traditional air-cooled devices and common types of liquid cooling for enthusiast PCs, the A1066I’s electrical components are submerged in a special dielectric fluid that carries heat away directly from the boards.Continue Reading on Coin Telegraph.
