The creator of the popular Bored Apes Yacht Club collection of NFTs launched a sale of virtual land, and the move crashed the Ethereum blockchain. The sale raised about $320 million worth of cryptocurrency as users scrambled to get one of the 55,000 pieces of land from the metaverse project.
