Regarding the recent industry divide over whether Ethereum can surpass Bitcoin, Tom Lee, a Bitcoin bull, is more optimistic about Ethereum’s growth potential and believes it will overtake Bitcoin in scale. Cathie Wood, however, argues that while Ethereum plays a key role in the DeFi ecosystem, most fees related to its native token Ether flow to Layer 2. Although competition among Layer 2 solutions may enhance the importance of Ethereum itself as a Layer 1, whether Ethereum can surpass Bitcoin amid this competitive landscape remains a major point of divergence between their views.
