CBSE Academic Blockchain Documents | समझें blockchain क्या है और कैसे काम करती है | Why it is secure

This video describes the blockchain technology in a very simplified way, how does a blockchain works, why blockchain documents are secured, immutable, tamper-free and verifiable. How distributed data works, What is distributed ledger, What is decentralized data, Decentralization of network. Blockchain is a decentralized or distributed network.
Recently CBSE has introduced a new porta ABCD which mean Academic Block Chain Documents for the verification of the documents issued by CBSE i.e. Passing Certificates, Migration, CBSE Marksheets. How students’ documents can be verified . CBSE has recently dropped a circular on its website regarding the same.

The circular constrains the following information,
Post declaration of results, there are two challenges, (i) instant availability of digital academic documents & (ii) verification of these documents for admission process for higher education in India & abroad and selection of the candidates for the jobs. To address this, CBSE developed first of its kind its own digital academic repository called ‘Parinam Manjusha’ and launched in 2016. This repository has been integrated with NEGD’s (National e-Governance Division) Digital Locker platform. At present result data of Class X & XII examinees of eighteen(18) years i.e. 2004 to 2021 is available online for downloading of digital academic documents by students and verification by employers and higher education institutions. Approximately 12 crore digital real time generated, digitally signed and PKI based QR coded academic documents such as Marks Sheets, Migration Certificates and Pass Certificates are available in this repository.
Digitization of legacy records of Class X & XII from 1975 onwards is in progress and will be appended to the repository as soon as completed. Thereafter, this repository is set to become one of the largest digital academic repositories in the world.
One of the challenges faced in the admission process for higher education in India & abroad and selection of the candidates for the jobs, is the verification of the academic documents produced by the candidates. The verification of the correctness and genuineness of these documents with the concerned universities or boards requires considerable effort and processing time. Hence most of the times, the institutes and companies insist on production of the original documents by the candidates.

In order to adopt another online technology-based secured verification of digital academic documents, CBSE in technical collaboration with National Informatics Centre, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Govt of India has come up with a solution using Blockchain Technology named as “Academic {BlockChain} Documents(ABCD)”. This Blockchain ensures that academic documents are recorded in secured and tamper proof manner. These academic documents are accessed online by any one in trusted and verifiable manner. To begin with digital academic documents of examination 2019, 2020 & 2021 have been put under this Blockchain.
Academic {BlockChain} Documents(ABCD)& its features
Academic {BlockChain} Documents (ABCD)’ has been established using the Blockchain Technology to record the academic documents of CBSE, by linking them like a chain. This Chain records the Academic Documents in a distributed manner in multiple locations. Academic Documents in this chain are secured, tamper proof and immutable. Attempt to tamper the data is not possible as all the distributed locations need to be updated as per the agreement to synchronise the data between them.
Blockchain Technology records the data in the distributed ledger with all the participating nodes. The data are recorded in the Blockchain based on the consensus among the nodes and simultaneously at all the locations in the distributed network of Blockchain nodes. This eliminates the dependency on the third party for verification. The data are linked and stored with cryptographic security so that they are immutable and traceable. The linking of the blocks in the Blockchain ensures that they cannot be tampered with. The data are trustable as they can be verified across the participating nodes.
Usages of Academic {BlockChain} Documents
This Blockchain provides the trustable, immutable and traceable academic documents. It can be used by the various educational institutes for admission for higher studies and companies for job offers. It can also be used for the online counselling by the institutes. The financial institutions can also use this system for sanctioning of educational loans and other loans based on the qualification of the applicants. It is transparent, tamper proof, paperless and no dependency on third party.
